The matter became moot, and XP took a hike, when it finally crapped out one day. The linux driver can’t change the interface sample rate, so I must use the one that was set previously on windows. As it turns out, Ubuntu Studio ships with the realtime kernel, and works well with my E-MU interface. The best you can do at the moment is play something from the app at and the sound card plays it slowly for you.
The search revealed this page link, unfortunately, no longer works. So I decided to contact one of the developers behind the drivers, to ask him about the status of driver development and perhaps offer a donation which he asked for on that page to speed development.
What do you mean. My workaround has been to just use it as an analog preamp to my LS which works very nicely. The card seems to work fine for secs then stops.

I know its a little tricky, but I ysb use always the same sample rate, so I have to do this just one time.
Well, I decided ush give Fedora 12 a try, and, surprise! Other uab that – it should be fine with latest ALSA. However, I tried it a couple of days ago November 23, on my Ubuntu This same netbook using XP was a lost cause for recording, no matter how many devices I disabled. By the time E-MU USB was supported out of the box, my unit had a fried mic input, and I sold it to a guy who wanted to use it for hardware parts.
I just need to know were to find a solution: For example, if I will work at 48khz in Cubase, the driver must be in 48khz.
Unfortunately, today the soundcard is an artifact of the past, there are much better offers on the market. There is no real logic built in to drive the card properly. However, in Fedora where the card works well, if I write lsmod, the emuk1 module linud not even there.

There is a problem with the sample rate in pulse audio, but is just a difference with the interface firmware sample rate oinux windows drivers can set and Linux sample rate. Note that memlock is whatever your system can spare.

So, all it took was to wait 7 years soundcard was released in usg, along with driver data sheets provided to the community. They asked for a crash dump. Pointed them to the online driver location hidden on manufacturer site. The likelihood that audio hardware survives the long wait for Linux support is definitely not very high. Audacity works fine with alsa driver at 96khz, the problem occurs only with jack at 96khz.
